Two Woods 2024 - 14 June

24 bowlers were split into 4 groups of 6 to play each other in a Round Robin format with the top 2 bowlers from each group progressing to the knockout stage. The event started in overcast and slightly damp conditions at times but the bowlers persevered despite the difficult conditions but were eventually rewarded with some warmth and sunshine which all the bowlers appreciated, unfortunately the rain returned for the semi finals and final. The weather did not dampen anybody’s spirits and the standard of bowling was extremely high throughout the day. Eventually the 2 bowlers who progressed to the final were Dawn Danby and Brian Meikle, so the two bowlers took to the rink in difficult conditions and gave us an excellent display of bowling with Brian emerging as the winner, well done to Brian for his victory but also well done to all the bowlers who took part.  We cannot forget the excellent BBQ which complemented the event so thank you to everybody who organised this, also thank you to Jocelyn for running the bar and finally but not least a big thank you to Josie for keeping on top of the scores all day. Overall an excellent day’s bowling which was enjoyed by both the bowlers and supporters alike.
